Black suit jacket, a shirt, jeans and converse?

Postby BigBrother on Sat Apr 03, 2010 12:53 pm

I'm supposed to be attending a dinner soon and I've not got a clue on what to wear. I'm planning on wearing a jeans, grey striped shirt, a black suit jacket and a black/white converse. I don't wanna look official at all. What do you think?

Is it a formal dinner? If so, stay away from the jeans and converse. Also, think about your host - would he/she take offense at you coming to dinner dressed as though you don't take the occasion seriously? If an informal dinner, go for it especially if you know others will be dressed like that. Now here is my answer based on my personal taste - I wouldn't wear jeans and converse to dinner plus I see going out to dinner as an opportunity for getting decked out and preening, you know?

Lol. My idea of getting decked out is looking stylishly different. I attended the dinner in my converse and jeans :D. I was kinda different but enjoyed every moment of it and even though she has a sharp tongue, her remarks were not disapproving :). I don't think I'll do it again.

Stylishly different is great as long as no one is offended. Hey, you didn't say it was a date?!

It wasn't really a date and it was too. Still got a lot of work to do ;)
