This is a spin off from the earlier thread about guy having female friends. I notice her talking to another guy or she talks to me about another guy or vice versa, Am I supposed to show a tinge of jealousy? I've heard of cases where the girl wants the guy to feel jealous so she can feel needed and girls who failed to show jealousy accused of not liking the guy.
For me, I do feel jealous sometimes but I never show it and it seems it's in the showing the girl is happy.

I do not think jealousy is needed in a relationship; that is a somewhat strong term to use. Given that we have the ability to care about other people and that we have strong territorial instincts, it is only natural that we should feel jealous at times. It is normal to show this jealousy in moderation. It is a sign that we feel strongly for that person to the extent that we need their undivided attention. Sometimes showing jealousy can be used as a signal that one person is ready to go serious and have a commitment. Of course, if the other person is not ready and still wants to play the field or is a philanderer, then they will misread the signal and break off the relationship.

have a had a similar experience where the girl kept on telling me about this particular guy until i found out she was trying to make me jealous but she stopped immediately i told her it seems they are a perfect match and she might as well be with him and stop disturbing my life..i had the last laff at the end

If she is trying to make me jealous, the relationship will definitely not last.
