I was wondering whether Nollywood movies are shot in studios or on location. I think Bollywood movies are shot in studios and as such they do not portray the reality of Mumbai. This is a pity really because film is a powerful medium via which a nation's plight can be internationally exposed. Documentaries take on this responsibility, but I think we need more "pop movies" to get in on the reality of things.
I am thinking about this because I just saw "Slumdog Millionaire" and it was a real eyeopener on issues such as child abuse, child prostitution and ethnic hostility.

Emm I rarely watch nollywood but i don't think they are shot in studios...the only studio I heard of in Nigeria is in Tinapa in calabar and the last I heard, it was wasting away. I believe the movies are shot on location and unfortunately with very poor story lines

nollywood movies r shot in various selected locations in nigeria like lagos,abuja,enugu...but lets give them a little credit with the activities of pirates and the not so wonderful economy they are taking tiny baby steps in the right direction.
