I've had a fair share of badluck wen it comes to dating. I meet a cute portable girl and I'm interested in her. We go out on a couple of dates and the age question comes up...she's older than me by 2 years. Well I'm like ki ni big deal and she's begins to act weird and probing further, she confesses she does not date younger guys. I'm cool wit dating her even though she's older, but she aint cool wit it. This has happened like more than 3 times with 3 different chics and I'm like what's the big deal with girls dating younger guys?

Don personally I can't date a younger guy. I will not be able 2 respect him dat much as man of the house.

Agreed, it's african culture to respect someone based on age but it's backward mentality to me. Respect should come from his worth, wisdom, his achievements...etc

I know. No matter d achievement ur junior remains ur junior no two ways abt dat. Lets visualize dis, a lady is abt five years older dan u, wen d tension is very high and u say in a very harsh tone "MY FRIEND KEEP QUIET'' wat do u tink will be her response? be sincere.

Her normal response will be Am I ur mate? but that's for a girl who obviously thinks age is a big deal. If I do something to deserve her disrespect even if she's younger than me, she has the right to say what she deems fit but if she does something stupid that deserves my disrespect, her mention of age difference will be dumb on her part and unfortunately that what happens in Nigeria. An old man or woman commits an offence and on the basis of age a young man cannot tell him off.

I had to bump this topic... i was talking to a friend today and she really made it seem a big deal about dating younger guys even if the love is true...what's really the thing about the guy being older than the lady?

uhm.... welll its sed that girls ture fasterthan guys... i generally dont date younger guys... or the same age... generally

i dont think there is anything wrong, (no big deal) wit a guy dating an older gal its all in our heads,
if the guy was older would the gal treat him,
any different from the guys she has dated in the past? I dont think so.

I Just a number speakin from experience,
my younger sis is married to a guy,
a yr younger than her and they are HAPPY.

a year younger is no biggy to me though but 5 years younger then i feel theres a problem i remember dating an older girl (oops sori i meant a friend of mine not me...lol) and she was complaining of her younger brother being disrepectful and that she was older then him by two years couldnt say a word cuz i (sori my friend)was younger than the brother by a year... was a funny situation.
